The two pillars of the last-day people

Revelation 14:12 names two marks of God's end-time people — and the sermon's burden is that the second has been badly neglected and badly twisted:

The commandments of Godthe sanctified life — obedience as the fruit of faith

The faith of Jesusimputed righteousness — trust in Christ our substitute

"Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." Revelation 14:12 (KJV)

The reading this topic defends "The faith of Jesus" is faith in Jesus — clinging to His substitutionary, imputed righteousness as your only hope before a holy God. It is not a mystical filling that replaces your will with Christ's believing. Even the KJV's older phrasing ("faith of Jesus") means, as most translations render it, "faith in Jesus" (compare Galatians 2:16). Your obedience is real and required as the fruit — but it is never your ground of acceptance. That ground is Christ, credited to you, received by faith.
